How to become a morning person

With the help of these tips, hopefully you will turn yourself into the morning person that you have always wanted to be.

One of the biggest struggles in a workplace, is getting to the workplace in the morning. Here are some helpful tips in order to turn you into that annoying co – worker who is always early and never be late again.

  1. Practice good sleep hygiene:  Keeping a consistent sleep schedule is one of the best ways to ensure yourself getting a quality sleep. If you need to shift your schedule earlier, do it at 15 minutes at a time.
  2. Create a routine: Implement an evening routine that begins to tell your brain that it is time to go to bed.
  3. Nap cautiously: If you need to catch up on some sleep from the night before, have a nap during the day instead of going to bed earlier, but not after 4pm.
  4. Power down: Before you go to bed, research shows that not looking at a screen for an hour before bed will ensure you to get to bed faster.
  5. Eat and drink cautiously: Going to bed either too full or hungry can cause stress to your stomach or a disrupted sleep scheduled, same for drink.
  6. Play a mind game: When your alarm goes off hit snooze, but get up. Tell yourself you only have to stay up for 9 minutes and in that time, stretch or make a coffee and by the time that 9 minutes us up you should be too awake to go back to bed.
  7. Seize the day: Instead of waking up with a groan in the morning, think about things to look forward to in that day.
  8. Prepare: Before you go to bed, prepare things such as your lunch for the next morning, this takes away unnecessary stress in the morning which builds to you waking up tired.
  9. Have a healthy breakfast: Let yourself have the best possible start to the morning. Whole grain carbs plus protein give you a quick hit of energy and keep you going all morning.
  10. Exercise in the morning:  The morning is the best time of the day to exercise, this is because morning exercise will give you a burst of energy to spur you on in the day.
